Schools
Segni and school
The school world is an important interlocutor for the Segni d’infanzia association. In this section you can find the services and opportunities made available to teachers and students.
Offering, Consulting and Co-Design
Theatre is a transversal pedagogical tool, capable of affecting the growth of the person in his or her cognitive and emotional spheres. It encourages children, boys and girls to re-connect with their own emotional side, helps them recognise the other and enter into empathic communication with the other, and is a form of non-formal learning recognised to all intents and purposes by the MIUR as an activity to be included in the educational offer and in the disciplinary teaching plan.
Every year, the Segni d’infanzia association offers teachers and classes of all levels, numerous educational and training proposals planned as part of SEGNI New Generations Festival, but not only.
The association is available throughout the year, at the request of schools or individual teachers, to devise specific activities and projects in line with the curricular themes to be addressed. It is also possible to ask schools for one of the proposals of shows produced by the association.
In addition, the association is available to participate in national and international calls for proposals as a partner, putting its skills and many years of experience in project writing at the service of the school.

The Festival as a cultural trip
The festival has always been an opportunity for an unprecedented trip to Mantua, a Unesco World Heritage Site, combining the viewing of theatrical performances and art workshops with a visit to the places of art, many of which are exceptional locations for the scheduled events. An all-round cultural experience where you can meet artists from all over the world and foreign students.
The Festival’s Schools Office is available to help classes and teachers of all levels, near and far, organise one or more days at SEGNI, creating ad hoc packages for participation in several events and discovery of the city.
Segni in onda for the schools
In 2020, the digital platform SEGNI IN ONDA was born, which also offers schools an augmented offer accessible and visible at any time directly in the classroom on the interactive whiteboard. The platform, created with the collaboration of evolutionary age experts, hosts various contents: theatre shows, podcasts, interviews with experts and artists, workshops, video readings, web series where artistic and digital languages are experimented to create innovative proposals, offer reading tools and a complementary and in-depth experience to the live one.
Discover in the area dedicated to the school order to which you belong what content is dedicated to the age group of your pupils.
Teacher Pass
If you are a teacher and you want to take part in the festival as an ‘insider’, to find ideas for your activities, write to ufficioscuole@segnidinfanzia.org and discover this opportunity to participate.

Let's meet at the Festival
The 19th edition of SEGNI New Generations Festival will be held in Mantua from October 6th to November 4th, 2024.
As every year, the Artistic Direction of Segni d’infanzia organises training and in-depth meetings with teachers of all grades. For further information contact ufficioscuole@segnidinfanzia.org – +39 0376 752417
The Contest and the Symbol Animal
The festival contest is a process of approaching and involving children and adults that every year involves schools of all levels in the Mantua area and beyond.
For many kindergartens the festival’s symbolic animal, which is different every year, is a tool for tackling the “welcome weeks” through dedicated and themed activities that are inspired by its characteristics and the dedicated bibliography. Sometimes the symbol animal characterises activities throughout the school year, also with the involvement of families, and allows for the exploration of various artistic techniques and languages.
After the Festival
It is possible to ask Segni d’infanzia throughout the school year to design an activity (workshops, readings, etc.) to be carried out in the school by writing to ufficioscuole@segnidinfanzia.org
To keep up to date with activities dedicated to the preschools, sign up for the Special Schools Newsletter by sending an email to ufficioscuole@segnidinfanzia.org and indicating your school grade.

In the SU MISURA section you can find some proposals of activities already realised by the association for sponsors and organisations that you can imagine declining and modulating according to your needs and the age of the class group.
The association has also created shows suitable for pre-schools, which can be performed at school, such as
- LUPUS IN FABULA on emotions, fairy tales and the environment.

- LUPUS IN FABULA su emozioni, fiabe e ambiente

After the Festival
During the year, the association involves students aged between 15 and 18 and secondary school teachers in activities related to the TEEN Project, a European cooperation project, which aims at the active involvement of adolescents in the theatrical experience and programming in collaboration with teachers and peers from different countries.
The festival’s online schedule on segninonda.org is led by TEEN groups who also collaborate in the production of some contents such as the ANG InRadio – Mantua #EcosistemaCulturaleEuropa podcasts, interviews and special contents, “Pillole di resilienza” and “La Voce di Geppetto”.
To join the TEEN COMMUNITY write to segnidinfanzia@gmail.com
Various contents of the platform dedicated to secondary school students (interviews with authors and artists or online discussion spaces such as the Spunti(ni) critici and the Teen Kitchen Table) remain available after the festival.
For teachers
Within the festival, training moments dedicated to teachers are scheduled, such as the non-formal training appointments “MASTERCLASS PASTAMADRE“: aimed at teachers, teachers, cultural operators, professionals, artists and adolescents and aimed at approaching new forms of cooperation for a holistic approach to cultural management and international cooperation.
Moreover, the experience of the festival itself, through the viewing of the performances and the attendance of the discussion spaces between artists, operators and spectators, is a formative experience that offers numerous stimuli and insights.
For students
For secondary school students, it is possible to activate an internship (as required by the school system) to follow all the management phases of a cultural and international event such as SEGNI New Generations Festival, working alongside the staff and gaining experience in the field by performing various tasks.
In addition, during the festival, the spaces for debate and discussion (Spunti(ni) critici, Teen Kitchen Table) with peers, artists and delegates from all over Italy and the world are a real ground for developing critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, and for training in English.
All the activities dedicated to young people aged between 15 and 25 yo within the ForesTEEN Project – the third European cooperation project conceived and coordinated by Segni d’infanzia associazione – are among the training activities for which training credits can be requested.
