NEW PROGRAMME FOR THE OPENING ON SUNDAY 29 OCTOBER

In view of the mixed weather conditions forecast for Sunday 29 October, the Segni d’infanzia organisation announces that the programme for the festival opening will be subject to change.

In order to guarantee children a rewarding experience, the collective parade, scheduled for today at 3 p.m. at Parco Te, is postponed to next weekend. “THE DANCE OF THE FANTASTIC ANIMALS” was to be realised with the recycled cardboard shapes decorated during the “Flamingo Atelier” workshops, mounted on pushchairs and used as a dancing backdrop amidst a flutter of “flamingo ribbons” collected from the public at ConfoCity, to the accompaniment of the Banda Città di Mantova ‘Alessio Artoni’ and the majorettes, but crossing the grounds of the Parco Te and the Esedra in unfavourable conditions (before, after and during the rain) would have limited the participation of families of spectators large and small.

The public will be notified of the new date, to be chosen between 4 and 5 November, of the THE DANCE OF THE FANTASTIC ANIMALS parade via social channels (Facebook and Instagram), newsletters, the website segnidinfanzia.org and segninonda.org, as well as by e-mail to all those who have registered for the event.

For all those who have registered and booked their place in the parade, participating in the anticipation and template preparation workshops, the Festival has provided alternative entertainment. “So as not to disappoint the expectations of the boys and girls, we have moved the appointment with the Orchestra of the students of the Nuova Scuola di Musica to the Sala delle Capriate in Piazza Alberti,” says Cristina Cazzola, artistic director.

The morning workshop “Atelier del Fenicottero”, scheduled from 10:00 to 13:00 at the arcades of Piazza Alberti, and the workshops on the iconic animal (originally planned for Palazzo Te, now moved to the arcades of Piazza Alberti) remain confirmed, thus guaranteeing the opportunity to take part in the “Contest Colora (e racconta) il Fenicottero” (Colour (and tell) the Flamingo), extended until 18:00. The festival staff is available to photograph the drawings made and help participants submit their works.

From Monday, the agenda is full of appointments! On the programme are performances, masterclasses, workshops;

starting with HUMANA FORESTA at 9.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. (from 6 years old, with fee) and moving on to exchange moments with two PastaMadre masterclasses, Holland Pavilion and Sweden Pavilion, as well as the International Conference “Accessible Theatre” (free events, with reservation by writing to festivalsegni@gmail.com);

on Tuesday 31, among the various shows (sold out) and other masterclasses, the programme includes Spuntini Critici, led by the teenagers of the ForesTEEN group, and the much-awaited HOLD YOUR HORSES, the evening event at the Ariston Theatre, 9 pm, in which the public is invited to participate, even in costume;

on All Saints’ Day, Wednesday 1 November, the festival continues with the Sensory Playroom, open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Loggia del Grano, and, among the day’s performances, of note

at 3 p.m., STREGHE by Progetto G.G., at the Ariston Theatre and at 4 p.m. PLANTASIA, the concert dedicated to plants, at Parco Te, for their first winter, played by Esecutori di Metallo su Carta.
