🌿 SEGNI returns to Giglio Island with the ForesTEEN Academy: from April 23 to 27, 2025, the island becomes a European cultural hub

An immersive experience of nature, theatre, and intergenerational dialogue in the heart of the Mediterranean

From April 23 to 27, 2025, Giglio Island will host the new edition of the ForesTEEN Academy, a cultural format created by Segni d’infanzia Association as part of the European ForesTEEN project, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme. It marks an important return to the Tuscan island after the successful editions in 2021, 2022, and 2024.

A festival for everyone, rooted in encounter and sharing

The ForesTEEN Academy is a true festival for all ages: adults, children, teenagers, island residents, and visitors. The programme includes creative workshops, performances, nature treks, communal gatherings, and artistic encounters—all designed to engage and connect different generations.

At the heart of the experience, over 20 participants from across Europe—including teenagers, young adults, artists, researchers, and cultural professionals—will bring the island to life with public events and shared reflections on building a more accessible and sustainable cultural future.

As Cristina Cazzola, Artistic Director of Segni d’infanzia, explains:

“ForesTEEN is a forest of people, ideas, actions. The Academy on the island is a fertile moment to imagine together a cultural ecology that puts young people at the center as agents of change and interpreters of the present.”

A rich and free daily programme

Each day includes excursions and open activities, all free of charge with booking required via WhatsApp at +39 375 6382711. The evenings will be animated by the Apulian company La Luna nel Pozzo, with engaging shows for children, teens, and adults alike.

Follow the Academy day by day

Each day will include visits to the island’s lighthouses, artistic dialogues, and discussions. The ForesTEEN Academy is part of the broader ForesTEEN project, led by Segni d’infanzia in collaboration with partners from Spain, Lithuania, Norway, France, Italy, and Denmark, and supported by ASSITEJ International.
