Segni of Summer to Mantua Village

The Mantua Village in Bagnolo San Vito (MN) is preparing to host the summer preview of SEGNI New Generations Festival: on Sunday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., an entire day dedicated to art and theater with workshops and performances.

For the occasion, the Village becomes an open-air stage and atelier to offer families from Mantua and neighboring cities the chance to combine a stroll through the stores with a cultural experience with boys and girls.

Starting at 11:00 a.m., young participants, in the company of artists and actors, are invited to explore and animate the location on the trail of the symbolic animal of SEGNI 2022: the Ant.

Daniele Tessaro “dresses the shoes” of Mr. Ant to tell and interact with spectators through book characters that reveal curiosities and characteristics of the symbol of the festival; with Francesco Testi, on the other hand, painting will be experimented with for the creation of the great cloth of the weaver ants: footprints, signs, rounds and antennas to be traced to discover how these insects are made and to compose rows and bridges. While in the company of ExVuoto Teatro artists, steps are put together for the ant dance, which inspired by the typical dance of the Maori people becomes a dance of cooperation. Everyone plays their part to coordinate in the movements of hands, feet, legs, body, voice, and give life to a collective performative action that will cross the spaces of Mantua Village, involving participants and passers-by.

At 5:30 p.m., the appointment is with a performance by the French company Les Sangles: a team of acrobats who perform daring experiments to counter air pollution. They climb and fly, between ladders and extension cords, using a special van that becomes a traveling circus.
