Each year “Segni d’infanzia” chooses an animal as its symbol and leitmotif of its laboratories, events, initiatives and preparation of the festival in November.
The symbol of 2008 edition is the Salmon. This is no ordinary fish: it swims against the tide, energetically darting in water; it covers miles and miles, passes from seas to rivers, from salted to sweet water and all this in order to go and spawn, as to allow the perpetuation of its species. In short, a very special fish!

The Salmon will be the protagonist of a project that will bring unusual artistic signs throughout the city of Mantua, namely in the places of the festival during the week from 9th to 16th November.
In addition, starting from April 1st the “Colour your Salmon” campaign will start. It will be addressed to children, adults, teachers, mothers, fathers, grand-fathers, grand-mothers and to anyone who is moved by the child inside of him/her and wants to give his/her contribution to the edition number three of “Segni d’infanzia” festival.
The Salmon can be freely re-elaborated: all painting techniques (and not only these) are allowed, as well as all dimensions (the image can be widened or shortened as wished).
The only rule to be respected is to take the moves of the original Salmon, that can be directly downloaded from the homepage of our web site www.segnidinfanzia.org
The salmons realized and complete with the indication of name and surname, shall be presented or sent to the Secretariat of “Segni d’infanzia” (at “Teatreno”, Piazza Don Leoni 18, 46100 Mantua). All the works will be gathered by the organising team and displayed during the week of the festival at “Palazzo della Ragione” (“The Reason’s Palace”), on the web site of the festival and…we do not exclude more surprises!

We remind that “Colour your Salmon” campaign is also opened to schools: we invite all the teachers to propose this activity to their pupils. After the great participation of last year, we await a bigger number of interventions and more fanciful proposals.

The Partner of “Colour your Salmon” 2008 campaign is Stabilo, which has always been a synonym of high quality. Stabilo will assure particular recognition to the best works realized by the schools that will take part to this initiative.
